Fencing with Austin Fencers Club: Summer Camp @ Magellan
Date: July 8-12
Location: Magellan Anderson Lane Campus
Fencing trains bodies and minds; developing fitness, agility, critical thinking, and good sportsmanship all at once. It builds strength, stamina, and reflexes, while teaching campers to think analytically and solve problems.
During this 5-Day camp we will be introducing students to fencing starting with the basic techniques, rules, and strategies and progressing to real time bouting and an understanding of the sport. This session is ideal for beginners looking to start and for those students from our after-school programs looking to up their game and get an idea of what more competitive fencing might be like.
Days will include games, fitness, foot-work and blade-work sessions, monitored bouting and more!
Friday we will be holding a fencing exhibition showcasing all the skills our campers have gained over the week which parents are encouraged to attend! (10am-noon)
All equipment and instruction will be provided by Austin Fencers Club.
