Individual Lesson Policy

If you want to take lessons, you must contact Maitre Eric Mallet initially. Do not contact the individual assistant coaches directly.

Once Eric has set you up with a coach, you must purchase a lesson card from your coach. Lessons are sold in groups of 10. Lessons with Eric Mallet cost $200 for a group of ten, and are payable to Eric Mallet. Lessons with the assistant coaches cost $150 for a group of 10 and are payable directly to the assistant coach.

Lessons are taken at a regularly-scheduled weekly time slot. Each month your scheduled slot may change. For example in January your lesson time might be Tuesdays at 8:30 and in February on Tuesdays at 9:00. Fencers schedule their lessons directly with their coach.

Lesson cards must be used with a 6 month period. In other words you must take all ten lessons on your card within a 6 month period. (Cards are dated at the time they are purchased). Any unused lessons at the end of a 6 month period will be forfeited.

You must have your lesson card with you in order to take your lesson. Your card will be punched before each lesson.

Your lesson card is your responsibility. If you lose your card, your coach will not be responsible for any lessons remaining on the lost card. If you wish to leave your lesson card at the fencing club you do it at your own risk..

You can not sell your lesson card to another fencer. Cards can be used only by the original purchaser.

Individual lessons last from 20 to 25 minutes, at the discretion of the coach.

Fencers who take individual lessons with an AFC coach may not take individual lessons from coaches at other fencing clubs.

Breach of this agreement will result in cancellation of your AFC membership.

Cancelation Policy:

If you are unable to take your individual lesson, you must give your coach a 24-hour cancellation notice.
Failure to give adequate notification will result in your being charged for the scheduled lesson.

Visiting Fencers Policy:

Visiting fencers can take individual lessons from AFC coaches, if lesson slots are available.
AFC members have priority over visiting fencers for lesson slots.
